The Town, as specified in the Town Charter, has all the powers of a municipal corporation under the laws of the United States Constitution3 and the laws of the State of Delaware1.

A complete listing of the powers of the Town and the duties, responsibilities, and limitations of the Town Council2 can be found in the Town Charter.

Town Council meetings are held on the 1st Monday of every month, at 7:30 p.m., at the Cheswold Fire Hall, unless a Holiday falls on that Monday. Then the meeting is held the next evening, Tuesday – same time, same place.
